Monarchs open PFL play with 62-0 win at Klamath Falls

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Portland Monarchs opened play in the inaugural week of action in the Pacific Football League with a 62-0 win at the Klamath Falls Crusaders.
Portland (3-0, 1-0 PFL) led 42-0 at halftime and got five touchdown passes form quarterback Russell Schneider completed 18 of 27 passes for 342 yards, 251 in the first half, and five touchdowns. Running back Jeremy Jones led the team in rushing with 95 yards on four carries and scored twice. Jason Hoyt also rushed fro two touchdowns.
"We are improving but I'm afraid this wasn't much of a test," Monarchs coach Aaron Fentress said.
The Monarchs make their home debut at Silverton High School Saturday against the Portland Raiders,who won 15-0 at the High Dessert Lightning (Sisters).
